HER Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa yesterday opened one of Bahrain's most colourful and popular annual exhibitions at a private ribbon-cutting ceremony. The opening of the eighth Bahrain International Garden Show (BIGS) at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC), Sanabis, was attended by ministers, diplomats, businesses leaders and gardening enthusiasts.

Arab League Secretary-General Dr Nabil Al Arabi, who is on a visit to the kingdom, was present at the opening.

HRH Princess Sabeeka was given a tour of the show led by BIGS general co-ordinator Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa.

During the tour she met exhibitors and congratulated the winners of the Bahrain Garden Club's (BGC) annual competitions.

Taking place under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, the four-day event features products and services of more than 80 local, regional and international exhibitors from the public and private sectors.
