WINGMASTERS. Sunday, Jan. 22, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield. Jim Parks and Julie Anne Collier will introduce attendees to different types of raptors, including hawks, owls, eagles and falcons; see live birds of prey and learn about their special features, how they hunt, what they eat, their vision, hearing and feathers. I know that these "comps" book does not describe a person, or at least not meant to-but I like the idea of portraying someone through a small visual arrangement of the books they read. It sounds silly, but could be more legitimate than you think: The last time I brought a lot of old art books and novels I had read Shakespeare and Co. to sell at Berkeley, the buyer took one look at the titles in my stack and said, "You are from the east coast, is not it?" New Hampshire, born and raised. Incredible, no? What does your books say about you?
