Japanese calendar exhibition opens
Rawalpindi—The Embassy of Japan, in cooperation with the Rawalpindi Arts Council on Tuesday displayed calendars at a show featuring different aspects of Japanese culture and traditions.
The Japanese Calendars Exhibition 2012, displaying 140 calenders will remain open for the public till January 31.
These calendars portray a variety of subjects such as contemporary and traditional art, gardens, scenery, costumes, people, photography, automobiles, wildlife, Ikebana, living styles and historical places, most of which are related to Japan.
Since every calendar is a piece of art, the Japan Calendar Association has tried their best to attract viewers through different subjects and mediums.
The exhibition not only presents a picture of centuries old socio-cultural development of Japan, but also exhibits the aesthetic features of Japanese printing technology.
